On December 16th, 2019, the EU member states adopted the new EU Whistleblower Directive to protect persons who wish to report violations of EU law. One of your employees or even one of your suppliers suspects a violation of Union law within your organization and wants to report it.
The whistleblower logs in to the whistleblower portal of the whistleblowing solution via an Internet browser and with an anonymous account. Now he can report the incident completely anonymously.
From that time on, the notice will be in the hands of the Grant Thornton Ombudsmen. They will acknowledge receipt of the case.
The ombudspersons of Grant Thornton are now handling the complaint. They collect all the information necessary to clarify the facts of the case.
Upon completion of such an investigation, the ombudsmen report to the management of the company, together with a recommendation for further action.
The whistleblower is informed via the portal about the outcome of the investigation and the measures taken. During the entire process and beyond, his anonymity is guaranteed.
