The Challenge
- The client’s IoT smart home devices are served by an on-premise hosted cloud backend
- Due to expected growth of devices to be managed the company decided to migrate all applications to MS Azure cloud
The Approach
- A scalable and flexible concept for management and connection of the devices and the cloud
- A solution based on “state of the art” Azure services was conceptually designed
- MS Azure IoT Hub was used for simple connectivity and easy scalability.
- Based on Azure services efficient command pipelines were designed to connect devices to different backend services. This allows easy extensibility of the cloud service.

- Best Practice concepts to connect and manage the client smart home devices and future device lines using state of the art cloud computing technologies were created
- A modular, easy to use and easy to implement concept for:
- Device management
- License management
- Message- and notification management
