The INVENSITY Academy is an important part of our business concept, as it contributes to your and our further development. You will receive high-quality training that enhances your personal and professional skills and expands your expertise. Personal topics include Personal Excellence, Social Competences and Leadership. Professional topics are the areas of Technical Knowledge and Methodical Skills

Depending on your personal interests as well as project-related, professional topics, you and your mentor will draw up your individual personnel development plan, which will provide you with the best possible support for your personal and professional development.

INVENSITY offers you professional coaching for technical topics. It complements mentoring geared towards personal development and supports our Academy by quickly delivering targeted application knowledge. You will receive coaching as required in the form of intensive support from experienced colleagues with practical experience in specialist areas.

The INVENSITY Coaching can react quickly and flexibly to your requirements and expands your skills specifically for the required application. It differs from INVENSITY training in that it provides more intensive support and a shortened form of knowledge transfer.

Every employee at INVENSITY is accompanied by an experienced mentor from day one. The goal of mentoring is to support the employee (mentee) in his or her personal development and career planning.

The mentor is not a supervisor, leader or teacher. The mentor’s task is to be a role model and to live the values of INVENSITY as a consultant and promoter, to pass on his or her experience and to be a contact person in case of conflicts and challenges.

The mentee has the opportunity to discover and develop his (hidden) abilities during the mentoring and to develop his personality according to his values. Mentoring serves as a constant orientation aid to ensure that the mentee achieves the development goals agreed upon in the semi-annual appraisal interview.

The relationship between mentee and mentor is therefore long-term and is characterized by trust and confidentiality. The mentee can also proactively help shape the content of the discussion. In regular meetings, they discuss whatever moves you. Thus, in addition to topics such as administrative processes, successful networking, methods in project work, the main focus is on career and development.

Part of the development of every employee is the goal of becoming a mentor at some point. With increasing professionalism and seniority, you will mentor mentees and share your experiences with them.

At INVENSITY, the values and visions as well as methods for the mentoring program are determined by the Mentoring Board and are passed on and communicated by the Academy in workshops and training sessions. In mentoring, you will find all the core values of INVENSITY: trust, respect, responsibility, sincerity, commitment and fairness. Mentor and mentee learn to deal professionally with recognition, praise and criticism. Both are committed to taking responsibility and cultivate transparent communication with each other, with colleagues and with management.

Career development in our company depends on theoretical and practical experience gained during studies as well as any professional experience. We distinguish between the consultant level, the management level and the director level. In the respective levels there are different career stages, which are graded according to experience and seniority. Depending on the level, the requirements and expectations as well as the responsibilities increase step by step.

The career steps are not time-bound. INVENSITY supports you comprehensively in your professional development, but you determine the speed of your career yourself: with your performance, your commitment and your dedication.

For this purpose, you will coordinate your career development with your responsible person in a six-monthly performance review. Together you will agree on objectives, and salary increases and bonus payments will be based on the extent to which these objectives are achieved. You will also receive detailed feedback from all company interfaces to enable you to better assess the success of your personal development. In addition, every 1.5 years you will have a personnel development interview with our HRD team, which is designed to provide you with optimum support in your development.

You develop cross-project knowledge and competencies and contribute to the success of technological projects with your comprehensive knowledge.

At INVENSITY you will be continuously confronted with technological challenges and aim to offer your customers complex and innovative solutions in the field of research and development.

You will be given the opportunity to work with well-known companies on diverse projects and through your work at the customer site you will gain cross-industry experience in a wide range of high-tech industries.

In addition, you will be able to work on internal projects and exchange professional experiences with your INVENSITY colleagues, e.g. in one of our Centers of Excellence. Your technical expertise and creativity will enable you to develop innovative technologies and thus generate added value for the customer.

You create innovations from the combination of your personality, your experience and your commitment.

At INVENSITY you will work in mixed teams both internally and on-site at the client’s premises. This is how longstanding experience, fresh ideas and new theoretical knowledge are mixed. This results in new synergies and potential for your personal development.

Your flexibility enables you to be open-minded regarding topics, tasks and locations. Projects change frequently and offer an inexhaustible source for the development of a broad industry know-how. This requires 100% mobility at the beginning of your career, which decreases over time and with increasing seniority.

You can expect a working time of 40 hours per week for your project – plus your input for internal projects. This additional commitment of each colleague serves to achieve our goals and results in rewards. We offer and expect flexibility from two sides, which is why we don’t have a time tracking system, but a working time system based on trust. You will not always work exactly 8 hours a day. Additional benefits will influence your result- and performance-oriented bonus accordingly.

Become part of a dynamic corporate culture and get to know your new colleagues.

You will be part of an international team driven by the same ideas and visions. Work together on optimal solutions and meet new friends from all over the world.

Our offices are located in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden, Stuttgart and Munich. An international office is in Detroit. The offices are purely organizational locations where training, coordination and internal projects take place. They are also the starting point for various events and after-work events. Our employees are administratively assigned to one office each, and mostly work directly at the customer’s site. Depending on the project, they work all over Germany, usually in the vicinity of the respective office.

INVENSITY offers a range of high-quality events: This is your opportunity to network with INVENSITY experts from all over the world and celebrate joint successes – on the dance floor and to the tunes of the company band.

Associate Consultant / Safety Expert / Office Enabler

"While no company is perfect, INVENSITY is the closest I've found so far. One thing I know for sure is that without INVENSITY, I wouldn't be as far along as I am right now, both in career and in life."

During my search for a career when I graduated from Michigan State in 2018, I would be asked the same question during interviews: “What are you looking for in a company?” - finally at INVENSITY I found it.
Engagement, growth, and impact, are the cornerstones that I use to define what I want my office to look like. Here's what these mean.

Engagement is a reflection of the energy and commitment of the individuals in overall company. Everyone wants to feel fulfilled in their work, and in my experience a lot of this stems from the quality and energy of the people they work with. At INVENSITY, from the first moment, I could tell that this company would be exceptional in this regard - the people here go the extra mile and bring their best selves to work each day. After over 18 months with INVENSITY this seems more and more true each day, and the people really care about creating an environment where everyone can fully engage with the work we do each day.

Growth means that there is an opportunity to grow, not just as an employee, but also as a person. I wanted a place where I could find out more about myself, as well as have consistent opportunities to challenge my own expectations and grow beyond who I was and am. At INVENSITY, this manifests consistently through challenging projects, rapid acquisition of responsibility, and many coachings and trainings provided by colleagues at all career levels all the way up to the top, including a 1 on 1 and group mentoring program that focuses on personal excellence and career development.

Finally, impact. Since I was just graduating university, I thought this would be the hardest to find. Most people prepared me to expect that I would be, "just a cog in the wheel," and that this impact thing I was talking about probably wouldn't happen for a few years. At INVENSITY, this simply isn't true. I've had countless opportunities to take on more responsibility, new roles, and more collaboration with people I did not expect to get to work with as peers for years. INVENSITY's feedback culture and focus on trust and responsibility ensures that if you're looking for it, you can have a big impact on the company starting on day 1.

While no company is perfect, INVENSITY is the closest I've found so far. One thing I know for sure is that without INVENSITY, I wouldn't be as far along as I am right now, both in career and in life.

Business Developer / Team Player / Leader

"After reflecting on my time here, it is clear to me that it is the opportunities to grow, the culture this company has built up since its’ creation, and the people that make it such a special place."

In my third year of undergrad at Michigan State University, I was constantly evaluating and contemplating what I wanted out of a future career. As I was pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering, I was very drawn to the possibility of working in the automotive and/or med tech industries. Besides the fact that these industries correlated with my field of study, I was also drawn to them as they were both industries with immense focus on innovation and technology. Before engineering consulting was introduced to me as a career path, I was constantly managing an internal conflict deciding which path to follow. Thankfully, I was introduced to an engineering consultancy, INVENSITY, and, unbeknownst to me at the time, my future career with a fantastic company.

I started at INVENSITY in 2018 as a Systems Engineering Consultant. I was promised immense development opportunity, a fast learning curve, and a culture that would allow me to develop the best version of myself alongside my colleagues. I have to admit, these promises seemed a bit grandiose and idyllic when I first joined, but my experience since starting at INVENSITY has proven that I was wrong to doubt the ability of INVENSITY to deliver on each of these promises.

My first big opportunity came quickly at INVENSITY. I was to take over a systems engineering project from a colleague at one of the world’s largest tier 1 automotive suppliers. The project consisted of managing and performing most of the primary systems engineering development responsibilities including: design work products, requirements elicitation, requirements management, test case creation, test management, and more. If it wasn’t for the impressive project support built into the INVENSITY process, that project would have been incredibly challenging and frustrating. Not only was this support necessary to perform the project, it was also what allowed me to learn so quickly, enable my colleagues with the knowledge I was developing, and feel very confident because I knew that I had a team of experienced colleagues supporting me every step.

As this project started to come to a conclusion, the next big opportunity came my way. That being said, it was not exactly the opportunity I anticipated. INVENSITY was offering me a position within the Business Development Department. After much back and forth, I decided to give this path a try. With little business experience, my colleagues in the business department spent immense time and effort enabling me with the skills and information I would require to be successful. It took some time, but after awhile, I was able to open my first project at a new client. That project turned into three more, and soon this client was a big partner for us in Detroit. Business Development has allowed me to grow, learn, and develop in ways I could never have imagined. Especially after just 2 short years with the company.

After reflecting on my time here, it is clear to me that it is the opportunities to grow, the culture this company has built up since its’ creation, and the people that make it such a special place. Like many organizations, INVENSITY has always expressed a sincere focus on the development and satisfaction of their employees. However, unlike many organizations, INVENSITY’s promise for a chance to grow and develop is not just a statement.  It is backed up by the companies actions day after day, week after week, year after year. The story of my career path is just one of many that illustrates this point. I will always be proud to be a part of INVENSITY and thankful that I was able to find a place so incredible to begin my professional career.

Consultant / Project Manager / Mentor

"I like to get out of my comfort zone as often as possible. INVENSITY allows me to do just that. "

I come from a larger company with a rigid hierarchical structure and little room for growth. There I was promised a role in management that would provide a very steady and stable life. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? Depends: I like to compare it to choosing the right school or developing a new relationship – as a curious person who studied to be an engineer, I am interested in consistent personal growth and flexibility at work to develop my own solutions. Consequently, I wanted to move to a company that would allow me to find exactly that. This is how I came to INVENSITY.

I discovered the job advertisement of INVENSITY on the career website of my university. The description corresponded to my desire to develop my own self, my own solutions and my own ideas. So I started to inform myself about the company. On Glassdoor it was listed as a small consulting company from Germany. I applied, went through the very personal interview process, and was given an offer to start in INVENSITY’s Detroit office.

My most valuable experience at INVENSITY since I started in 2016 has been working with the diverse team in our office and connecting with the people in our internal network. When quality work on a technical topic is required, I can always rely on my colleagues for advice. In the same way, I enjoy travelling with them, having dinner, or rehearsing music pieces to rock the stage at the next company event.

In addition to a great culture and colleagues, I also enjoy my technical work at INVENSITY. My favorite project was when we made a mobile application development solution available for configuration and service in a new series of geothermal probes. This project gave me a lot of room for professional growth and expanding my knowledge of special technologies that are becoming increasingly important for my field of expertise.

I like to get out of my comfort zone as often as possible. INVENSITY allows me to do just that. When I ask my INVENSITY manager or mentor for feedback or advice, I always receive positive and insightful feedback. If I have the feeling that I am not developing further or if I discover potential for improvement in my work or in the company, they always have an idea.

Consultant / Safety Expert / Mentor / Photographer

" In comparison to my other industry experience, being a Consultant keeps me on the toes of my feet. "

After getting my Materials Science Engineering degree from Carnegie Melon in 2016, I was looking to get a diverse experience at a company where I could use my soft skills to balance my technical experiences. INVENSITY allows me to do just that. As a consultant, I utilize my soft skills to make a significant impact in a variety of applications.

In comparison to my other industry experience, being a consultant keeps me on the toes of my feet. I am dealing with problems that I would never expect, interfacing with people who I would never usually even meet, and making solutions in situations that I couldn't imagine. Being a Consultant has allowed me to significantly expand my strengths and skills in various ways.

Here at INVENSITY, I am given the opportunity to express my creativity through my work. Besides working on exciting projects at the client site, I work on internal work such as organizing events, photographing, and marketing.

None of this would be possible without INVENSITY's culture. INVENSITY's culture supports everyone and pushes a strong agenda of passion and learning. There is a spirit within the team where we support each other regardless of the topic. It doesn't seem like our colleagues are working in different positions or projects - it honestly seems like we are open to supporting each other, independent of who's problem it is.

Associate Consultant / Mechanical Engineer / Outdoor Enthusiast

"I really feel that a large portion of why INVENSITY has been such a good fit for me stems from the support from my colleagues and the work environment to pursue work that is important to you."

My time at Michigan Tech set me on the path to become a consultant without even realizing it. I gravitated towards project based classes where I was able to design “Build-a-Plane”, or building and programming an autonomous robot, and twice participated in a Shark Tank style competition where we created an emergency foam splint and a companion app for adventurers. This semester long structure of project based work was so exciting for me, yet I could not seem to find that same level of excitement during my internships in manufacturing and engineering design. After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I took a step outside of the technical realm and stayed for another year, earning my MBA. This turned out to be the nail in the coffin for me getting a corporate engineering job.

A few months after graduation, I still did not have a job because I couldn’t find something that offered me more than just “a place to work.” Then I got a call from Human Resources on a summer day, which lead me to INVENSITY’s unique interview process, which lead to an offer being handed to me. I was looked in the eyes by one of the hiring managers, who said “you have room to grow and we think we can be the ones to help you grow.” Now this, this is something unique! It took EVERYTHING in my power to not sign right then and there! Delaying my response to think it over did not change my mind in the slightest, and I accepted the offer. And ever since then, I have come to appreciate the true value of what it means to have your company and colleagues support you, what it means to enjoy going to work and then stay late after to hang with colleagues, and as a young professional, help shape the direction of the company.

I really feel that a large portion of why INVENSITY has been such a good fit for me stems from the support from my colleagues and the work environment to pursue work that is important to you. Being encouraged to start intramural sports teams with colleagues, to contribute my unique skillset to the growth of the business, and to work on projects that I actually enjoy  has allowed me to see that my passions can be applied in a constructive way to my professional life.

Mike Rowe has a great quote about being passionate about your job, in which he essentially states, instead of seeking a passionate job, the key is to find a job, and then find a way to become passionate about it. I consider myself to be incredibly lucky to have a job that I enjoy with great colleagues – it makes it much easier to find my own passion in this company.

“In comparison to my other industry experience, being a Consultant keeps me on the toes of my feet.”

I am dealing with problems that I would never expect, interfacing with people who I would never usually even meet, and making solutions in situations that I couldn’t imagine. Being a Consultant has allowed me to significantly expand my strengths and skills in diverse ways.

Here at INVENSITY, I am given the opportunity to express my creativity through my work. Besides working on exciting projects at the client site, I work on internal work such as organizing events, photographing, and marketing.

None of this would be possible without INVENSITY’s culture. INVENSITY’s culture supports everyone and pushes a strong agenda of passion and learning. There a spirit within the team where we support each other regardless of the topic. It doesn’t seem like our colleagues are working in different positions or projects – it honestly seems like we are open to supporting each other, independent of who’s problem it is.

Associate Consultant / Mechanical Engineer / Outdoors Enthusiast

I really feel that a large portion of why INVENSITY has been such a good fit for me stems from the support from my colleagues and the work environment to pursue work that is important to you.
