Technology Consultant / Expert for Software Engineering

“I applied with a speculative application for a mandatory internship. Here at INVENSITY I could use my theoretical knowledge to design and create software for real users in practice.”

I came to INVENSITY through a fellow student. One afternoon he had met a friend by chance, who had done his mandatory internship at INVENSITY. Since my fellow student knew that I was looking for an internship at that time, he informed me about INVENSITY. I then applied with a speculative application for a mandatory internship and received a direct phone call. During the friendly conversation many questions could already be answered. A few days later I was already called again and an appointment for further talks was made.

At INVENSITY many different people were waiting for me. You can talk to the people here, work together, be creative and rely on them. We have a great variety of different characters and types of people and we are growing steadily. I am always very excited about new employees, especially if they support my department or if you can work with them on your project.
My internship time here was very pleasant and varied. First I was involved in creating a recruiting website, then I maintained a webtools landscape. During my studies of media informatics I learned a lot about user specific software programming, which helped me with these tasks. There I could use my theoretical knowledge to design and create software for real users in practice.
During this time I also talked to many different people at INVENSITY and got a good insight into the daily work of the consultants. This has had a very positive effect on me and made my decision for a permanent position easier.
My broad knowledge in the field of information technology has also helped me to break down difficult issues and to master the resulting challenges. The user-friendliness of my studies also makes it very easy for me to explain the tools we develop for the user. Since I can put myself in the shoes of colleagues and customers, I was able to better understand questions and challenges and thus better support them.
After my mandatory internship I completed my bachelor thesis at INVENSITY. The transition period between my bachelor thesis and permanent employment was only three days. I used this time to introduce myself to clients and to conduct a first meeting. This successfully provided me with my first project after my permanent employment.

Hi, I am Daniel and Consulting – Academy – Innovation is for me at INVENSITY program, every day. I have been a consultant, run our academy and am motivated to create innovations with the team every day to change the world.

After studying Business Information Technology at the Technical University of Darmstadt I joined INVENSITY as a Consultant. My goal is to create new innovations together with the INVENSITY team, to support our customers in innovation management and to enter the consumer electronics industry.

I got to know INVENSITY in Darmstadt at the company contact fair konaktiva. After I had already identified INVENSITY as an interesting company for industrial engineers with interdisciplinary orientation like me, the professionalism and the team at the booth convinced me to start my career in technology consulting.

This positive impression was confirmed in the subsequent application process. The application process was very professional throughout and gave me a deep insight into the company and parts of the team.

After joining the company, I was able to gain a lot of valuable experience in various areas such as quality, requirements, test, safety and innovation management, which I was able to apply to exciting customer projects. I was also able to support customers in the railway, aviation and automotive industries and to successfully implement a customer project in Shanghai, China with a senior consultant.

In addition to these professional development opportunities, I always wanted to develop myself personally. For this purpose the INVENSITY Academy offers an outstanding range of further education opportunities, which can be individually adapted to the career, person and needs. Another valuable part is the mentoring, which provides each employee with an experienced contact person.

After some exciting project experiences and professional development, I had the chance to make an internal change to Business Development (customer acquisition and disciplinary team responsibility). Here I used the opportunities to build up a team of consultants and to realize exciting projects in the Rhein-Main area together. This team of over 20 colleagues is working on exciting and innovative topics from Kassel to Frankfurt and Heilbronn.

Meanwhile I am the head of the INVENSITY Academy and do my best every day to create perspectives and promote learning curves of our employees, as well as to make our entire knowledge management come alive.

Senior Consultant / Expert for test management / Trainer

“Over the 10 years at INVENSITY, I have seen a great international team grow, which maintains an open and friendly relationship with each other.”

I am a graduate engineer for electrical engineering and information technology and have been with INVENSITY since the beginning of 2008. At that time, during my diploma thesis, I was contacted via XING and after a first phone call I was invited for a personal interview in Wiesbaden. Over the 10 years in the company I have seen a great international team grow, which cultivates an open and friendly interaction with each other. There's a lot of laughter, a lot of socializing outside of work and many of the colleagues have become good friends.

As a Senior Consultant, you have many, broadly diversified tasks, from classic customer projects to HR and business development support to technical management in the internal departments. In addition, you are always a role model and always act as a multiplier. All these tasks need to be planned and coordinated in terms of content and, above all, timing. When will I be where, with which customer, in which office, do I use the home office etc... This personal responsibility makes the daily work very appealing and fun.
A core task and also a challenge is to make your knowledge and the experience you have gained as a senior available to other employees as a multiplier. Taking over a department and the professional management of employees is also an exciting task.
The INVENSITY trainings have enabled me to do this, especially in the area of Personal Skills and Strategy. And through my active work as a trainer at INVENSITY I am always learning something new through teaching. I also had the opportunity to participate in external trainings and to get certified externally (Certified Tester).

Nach meinem Maschinenbau-Studium an der RWTH Aachen mit der Vertiefung Luft-und Raumfahrttechnik war mein großes Ziel, im Bereich der Forschung & Entwicklung in High-Tech Branchen an Know-how zu gewinnen.

Als ich auf INVENSITY aufmerksam wurde, habe ich das ideale Consulting-Unternehmen für mich gefunden, welches u.a. in der Automotive-, Energie, Optik-, und der Luftfahrtbranche tätig ist. Der Bewerbungsprozess beinhaltete mehrere Gespräche, ging jedoch flott, so dass ich auch recht schnell als Consultant einsteigen konnte.

Mit meiner Arbeit hier unterstütze ich den Kunden, indem ich Lösungen für komplexe technologische Herausforderungen erarbeite. Associate Consultant / Mechanical Engineer / Outdoor Enthusiast

"I really feel that a large portion of why INVENSITY has been such a good fit for me stems from the support from my colleagues and the work environment to pursue work that is important to you."

My time at Michigan Tech set me on the path to become a consultant without even realizing it. I gravitated towards project based classes where I was able to design “Build-a-Plane”, or building and programming an autonomous robot, and twice participated in a Shark Tank style competition where we created an emergency foam splint and a companion app for adventurers. This semester long structure of project based work was so exciting for me, yet I could not seem to find that same level of excitement during my internships in manufacturing and engineering design. After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I took a step outside of the technical realm and stayed for another year, earning my MBA. This turned out to be the nail in the coffin for me getting a corporate engineering job.

A few months after graduation, I still did not have a job because I couldn’t find something that offered me more than just “a place to work.” Then I got a call from Human Resources on a summer day, which lead me to INVENSITY’s unique interview process, which lead to an offer being handed to me. I was looked in the eyes by one of the hiring managers, who said “you have room to grow and we think we can be the ones to help you grow.” Now this, this is something unique! It took EVERYTHING in my power to not sign right then and there! Delaying my response to think it over did not change my mind in the slightest, and I accepted the offer. And ever since then, I have come to appreciate the true value of what it means to have your company and colleagues support you, what it means to enjoy going to work and then stay late after to hang with colleagues, and as a young professional, help shape the direction of the company.

Mike Rowe has a great quote about being passionate about your job, in which he essentially states, instead of seeking a passionate job, the key is to find a job, and then find a way to become passionate about it. Hello, my name is Juliane. After my PhD in pharmaceutical biotechnology at the University of Heidelberg I joined INVENSITY as a consultant. My long-term goal is to further open up new areas of knowledge for INVENSITY, such as biotechnology and the medical technology sector.

INVENSITY got to know "Presenting in Challenging Situations" at a conactive workshop in Darmstadt. This workshop was the best and most efficient workshop I attended during my studies. In addition, I had the ulterior motive to find out during the workshop whether consulting was an option for me as a doctor of biology to start my career.

The case study aroused my interest in consulting. The decision to start a career in consulting was the right one for me, because I was able to realize my desire for further development and versatility at INVENSITY as a lateral entrant with a doctorate.

So I used the workshop specifically to get to know a potential employer and an interesting industry. Due to my very positive first impression, I entered in the free field of the workshop feedback sheet that I would like to know more about joining the workshop.

The decision to start my career in consulting was made mainly because the tasks are very varied and I can develop both personally and professionally. Consulting offers the unique opportunity to get to know many different companies and their corporate culture.

It also offers the opportunity to gain versatile learning and experience, as well as getting to know different areas of the companies. For me this means that I can live my great interest in new and unknown things, my urge to explore, every day.

Since the projects take place at different locations in Germany, you have to be willing to travel for the first few years. I find this exciting, because I was used to spontaneity, independence and independent action from my research work.

What I missed in university research were the development opportunities. At INVENSITY personal development is promoted in many ways and the will to develop is required.

On the one hand, there are numerous training courses offered by the Academy, which strongly contribute to personal development and self-analysis. On the other hand, the mentor strongly supports personal development by passing on his or her experience and integrating you into the network, so that you quickly get to know many colleagues and soon make your own contacts.

Nach meinem Maschinenbau-Studium an der RWTH Aachen mit der Vertiefung Luft-und Raumfahrttechnik war mein großes Ziel, im Bereich der Forschung & Entwicklung in High-Tech Branchen an Know-how zu gewinnen.

Als ich auf INVENSITY aufmerksam wurde, habe ich das ideale Consulting-Unternehmen für mich gefunden, welches u.a. in der Automotive-, Energie, Optik-, und der Luftfahrtbranche tätig ist. Der Bewerbungsprozess beinhaltete mehrere Gespräche, ging jedoch flott, so dass ich auch recht schnell als Consultant einsteigen konnte.

Mit meiner Arbeit hier unterstütze ich den Kunden, indem ich Lösungen für komplexe technologische Herausforderungen erarbeite. Für mich persönlich ist wichtig, dass ich einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Wertschöpfung leiste und etwas verändern kann. Durch die Vielzahl an Kunden-Projekten, in denen ich vor Ort tätig war, steigt meine persönliche „Wissens-Lernkurve“ enorm. Daher sehe ich die Mobilität als Chance, mich fachlich wie persönlich weiterzuentwickeln.

Intern engagiere ich mich in unseren Kompetenz-Zentren, den sogenannten Centers of Excellence und leiste einen Beitrag zum Wissensmanagement und gewinne an fachlicher Expertise. Dabei kann ich selbst entscheiden, in welchem Bereich ich an Wissen und Erfahrung gewinnen möchte. Es ist ein tolles Gefühl mit Leuten zu arbeiten, die jung und motiviert sind und Expertisen auf verschieden Gebieten haben. Der Wissenstransfer wird bei uns groß geschrieben und gelebt.

Wir legen außerdem großen Wert darauf, dass ein gesundes Work-Life gelebt wird. Wir gehören nicht zu den typischen Consulting-Firmen, die von ihren Mitarbeitern und Mitarbeiterinnen 80-90 Wochenstunden abverlangen. Das Wohl der Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen steht im Vordergrund. Wir denken langfristig und möchten daher mit den Mitarbeitern und Mitarbeiterinnen langfristig planen und sie nicht „verheizen“. So kommt auch meine Zeit, die ich privat mit meiner Frau und meiner Tochter verbringe, nicht zu kurz.
