“One of the ways to meet the growing global challenges is to positively influence complexity and quality by using high-quality processes during development.”
Dr. Thomas Schlik, CES at VDA
Today more than ever, companies are forced to make their products better, faster and more cost-effective, with products all the while becoming ever more complex due to an increase in interdisciplinary challenges.
High-quality development processes can help organizations in meeting today’s challenges and in sustaining their position on the market compared with their competitors. The INVENSITY methods are aimed towards improving an organization’s processes.
Defining the objective of the improvement
Setting concrete objectives is crucial for success and should be oriented towards the business aims and the conditions within the organization.
INVENSITY supports you in defining the aim of your improvement, whereby it is able to draw on a large number of process improvement projects and the experience gained in those projects.
Evaluating the existing processes
The process knowledge gained by INVENSITY in various industries is used to evaluate existing processes. To do this, INVENSITY consultants use the ISEPAK (INVENSITY Process Assessment Kit) tool - this is a tool for process analysis, evaluation and optimization in the field of R&D.
Based on the process analysis, ISEPAK can be used to uncover improvement potential and develop specific recommendations for action, while offering a basis for prioritizing the recommendations for action that are suitable for the company’s individual needs. The key characteristic of ISEPAK is its practical orientation as an audit form. It can be used to optimize existing R&D processes for day-to-day working, and not just for an audit.
Improvement of Processes
Many companies suffer from inefficient development processes. While the general processes are defined by the company, there are often gaps in the links between the individual processes and in the transition from the general process to the detailed process. This leads to errors in the implementation of processes, or they may even be completely ignored. The result: inadequate quality and higher costs due to inefficiency.
The INVENSITY systems engineering standard development process, ISEStEP for short, offers companies the opportunity to optimize their development processes for efficiency purposes. ISEStEP represents a practice-oriented development process with all of the links involved in it.
This enables the process solution to be defined much more quickly for the organization. The special feature of ISEStEP is its practical orientation and the expertise that has been acquired in process consulting projects for numerous large German enterprises and which has been integrated into ISEStEP.
Anchoring the processes in the organization
In its academy, INVENSITY offers various training courses on topics and processes in the area of system development.
Using a set of building blocks, we can cater to your individual needs. What’s more, the training content is individually adapted to client requirements before the training course. Numerous exercises and case studies increase practical relevance. The instructors have many years of professional experience gathered in diverse companies and industries.
Just a little about our training courses on offer:
Safety
The subject of functional safety has considerably increased in significance with the adoption of IEC 61508 “functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems” in the German standard specifications (DIN 61508) on October 7, 2003. As a result of initial concerns regarding living up to this standard, the view to comply with this standard has increasing gained ground in order to optimize existing development processes.
In this regard, INVENSITY investigates the use of IEC 61508 (feasibility and expense), trains staff and takes care of documentation for its clients.
